Jolly Saint Nick

Not

Today is the feastday of Saint Nicholas the Thaumaturgist — Wonder-worker — 3rd-century Bishop of Myrna in Asia Minor, and patron of children. His name means 'victory' or 'splendor' of the people.

His relics are mainly in Bari, Italy.

According to an old custom, on this day, naughty children...
...get a lump of coal in their stocking.
