Today I received my copy of the newly-published book,
Catholic Church Architecture and the Spirit of the Liturgy![](http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=romeofthewest-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=1595250271)
by
Denis R. McNamara, M.Arch.H., Ph.D., Assistant Director of
The Liturgical Institute,
University of St. Mary of the Lake (Mundelein Seminary), in Mundelein, Illinois.
I can't wait to read it. It is an attractive, and theologically and historically rich evaluation of church architecture, simultaneously pious and scholarly.
McNamara is the author of the book
Heavenly City: The Architectural Tradition of Catholic Chicago![](http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=romeofthewest-20&l=btl&camp=213689&creative=392969&o=1&a=1568545037)
a picture book of the churches of Chicago, and writes at the
Society of St. Barbara.
I will provide a full review after I read it. The restoration continues.
