  2. Thanks,

    I've been working on technique.

But I noticed that these are blurry due to tripod shake, so today I got a new tripod that is much heavier and stronger, and taller, too. I noticed several times that the camera shook during long exposure times, especially when a truck rumbled by on Gravois. New photos ought to be a bit sharper, and have a more realistic perspective.

  3. I remember coming here summer 1993 and being given a brief tour by a very kind priest. I remember friends of mine and myself wishing the latin mass would be held here, but it seemed just a dream. I'm thrilled to hear it is a reality. What an ideal setting for the traditional mass.

If you don't already know, you would be interested in St John Cantius in Chicago. http://www.cantius.org/ I attended mass while living in Chicago for 5 years. A very dynamic traditional Catholic parish and most definitely a model of excellence for ALL parishes.-Anywhere.

  4. Mr. Abeln,
I am quite new to St. Francis de Sales church, so I have not met many members of my new parish family. I would like to take this opportunity to say to you that I think these pictures are very nice! Thank you for posting these pictures.

  5. If I was the bishop of St. Louis I would pour millions into restoring this fantastic church. Even if I had to sell property to do so. We freeze in the winter ( boiler old) and sweat to death in the summer ( old, worthless AC ). The tower is sinking and the room needs repair. Plaster needs reworking and the floors need redone and the pews need refinished.I would also buy up some of those broken old houses next to it and build a nice secure parking lot. I'v already had to run a couple of bumb out of there who came in pretending to pray and as people were going to communion they started looking in the pews and took some stuff once.It was just a missal though in a bag so they left it and ran.I am tired of the latin mass community being treated like second hand citizens. They always stick us in some old church that is practically falling down because they know we will save it.
