ReplyDeleteI still don't see St. Dominic Savio! Actually, it is a classic example of 1950s "build a parish as fast and cheap as you can" but built to last.
ReplyDeleteI've only been in that church once, for a wedding.
ReplyDeleteI understand that there are now limits to the length of mortgages that parishes can take on. You can't have a 30 year mortgage to build an expensive church. Considering the depopulation of cities starting in the 1950s, I think this may have been considered a prudent consideration at that time.
